A chip van near Bridge

Questions from Bridge

How far is Bridge from London?

Roughly 55 miles from the centre of London.

Is Bridge too small for a chip van?

Not at all. We serve villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates and the ground.

Is there a non-fish option?

There is: sausages and pies, with chips. Give us a rough idea of numbers.

Can you park on the road outside?

Only in a legal space, or with the council’s permission. Ask your council early.

Can you cook in the rain?

We cook inside the van, so rain doesn’t stop us. Guests will appreciate cover near the hatch.

Can you serve in the cold?

The fryers are inside the van, so we carry on. Plan a short, lit route from the door to the hatch.

How do you handle allergies?

We provide allergen information for everything we serve. Fish and gluten are the main ones in battered fish. Send us any allergies in writing.

What does it cost to hire the van?

Every booking is quoted individually, based on your numbers and timings. Tell us your date and rough numbers and we will reply with a price.

Christmas party fish and chips in Bridge, cooked to order

Christmas fairs and lights switch-ons suit a chip van too, with hot food for visitors in the cold. We are often asked to cater end-of-year club parties and christmas customer days, serving cod and chips, mushy peas and curry sauce.

In winter near Bridge, we need firm ground and light. Tell us about dietary needs and allergies when you enquire, and we’ll be straight with you about what we can do.

Christmas catering near Bridge

Bridge is about 3 miles south-east of Canterbury, in Kent. From the centre of Bridge to the outskirts, we offer the same service: fish and chips fried to order, served hot and quoted clearly. We cover 922 places across Kent.

If a church like Church of St Peter is running a Christmas fair, a chip van is a welcome sight on a cold evening. If people are coming by rail, Bekesbourne station is about 1.2 miles away. The Kent Downs National Landscape is within about 7 miles of Bridge; in winter, rural routes need a bit more planning.

For Christmas parties in CT4, we just need to know where the van can park and roughly how many guests. Takeaway run or book a van?

Weighing up a takeaway order against booking a van? Think about numbers, timing and how hot you want the food. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Collecting fish and chips for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s hard work. Long waits and a drive home mean food arrives lukewarm and soggy. With a van, it’s fried on the spot.

For planners, venues and organisers

If your event is in a public place, such as a park or a street, check what permission you need first. The council or landowner will tell you what they need.

If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a fête committee, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Prices and what affects them

Each booking is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Numbers
  • How far we travel
  • Parking and the way in
  • Peak dates such as summer Saturdays

Cost depends on numbers, menu and service time, along with distance and access to the site. Every booking gets its own quote.

What we need to know

Good planning starts with a few facts. Try to include:

  • Your date and serving time
  • A photo of the parking spot
  • The address or venue name
  • Access details such as gates and narrow lanes

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually need. For a quote, send us your details through our quote form.

About the food

Curry sauce

Some people won’t eat chips without curry sauce and it is on the menu.

Mushy peas
