Fish and chip van for events for Hell Corner events

Fish and chip van for events in Hell Corner, fried fresh

We trade at village fêtes, school fairs, sports days, festivals and shows. On the menu are cod and chips, mushy peas and chips, and we’re regularly asked to cater church fêtes and fish and chip suppers and music and food festivals.

Near Hell Corner, events may be far from shops and cafés, so fish and chips goes down well. The fryers are in the van, so the cooking happens right there at your event, so the batter is still crisp when it is handed over.

What happens on the day

We take care of the food from arrival to the last chip, so you can enjoy your event in Hell Corner. At midsummer, events in Hell Corner stay light until about 9:25pm, so evening trading normally finishes in daylight in high summer. For winter events, dark by about 4:00pm, the pitch needs lighting.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and address.
  2. We check access for the van and quote.
  3. We arrive early to park and heat the fryers.
  4. Fish goes into the batter and straight into the fryer, to order.
  5. We serve hot from the hatch and pack up when we’re done.

Before the day, we will agree where the van parks. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • Firm, level ground for the pitch
  • A clear route onto the pitch
  • Somewhere firm if it rains

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Hell Corner: your questions answered

Is Hell Corner too small for a chip van?

Not at all. We serve villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

Which station is closest to Hell Corner?

The closest is Kintbury station, roughly 1.8 miles away.

When do you arrive?

We get there in good time to set up. We’ll agree arrival and serving times with you.

Can the van park on grass?

Frequently, if the ground is firm and dry. Soft, wet ground can trap any vehicle, so plan a back-up spot.

How much does a fish and chip van for your event cost in Hell Corner?

Every booking is quoted individually, so the price fits what you need. Give us your date, numbers and serving time for a clear quote.

What areas do you cover?

London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Hell Corner.

Do you have allergen information?

We provide allergen information for everything we serve. Battered fish contains fish and, in standard batter, gluten. Tell us about allergies in advance.

What do we need to supply?

A suitable spot for the van and permission to park there. Tell us whether there’s power or water nearby and we’ll take it from there.

For planners, venues and organisers

For big groups, the service window matters, so we can plan service to match. Staggering groups helps a lot.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you are a planner, a facilities manager or an organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

What affects the price in Hell Corner

There are no hidden charges: the price is based on:

  • Access and parking
  • How many people are eating
  • Your choice of menu
  • Travel, tolls and road charges

The price depends on numbers, the menu and how long we serve, along with distance and access to the site. We quote for each booking individually.

Details that help

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Expected numbers
  • Your date and serving time
  • Where you’d like the van to go
  • The address or venue name

We only need a few details to quote: the date, where the van would park, roughly how many people and when you’d like to eat. You can fill in our quote form.

The menu, dish by dish

Haddock and chips

Haddock has a slightly sweeter flavour and a firmer flake. It is the traditional favourite in Scotland and much of the north.

Cod and chips

Cod and chips is the meal most people picture when they think of a chip shop. Cooked fresh at the hatch, it is hot, crisp and generous.

Choosing a fish and chip van

Can’t we just order from the chip shop?

For a small group, making your own food can work. For bigger numbers, a van makes life easier, and you get to enjoy the day.

Some hosts try a takeaway order. The problem is timing: big orders take a long time, and the food is cooling while it travels. A van solves that by cooking on site.

  • Fried fresh to order in the van at your event
  • Cod, haddock and chips, sausages and pies
  • The van comes to you: homes, venues, workplaces and fields
  • Served at the time you choose, from the hatch
