Party fish and chip van in Redbridge, cooked to order

There is no need for a venue: the van makes your home the party venue. Popular choices include pie and chips, curry sauce and sausage and chips, and we are regularly asked to cater summer garden parties and street parties.

A country party near Redbridge is perfect for fish and chips: cooked to order and eaten on the lawn. Plan a firm spot in case it rains. The menu is short on purpose: a few classics done properly keeps the food fresh and the queue moving.

How to compare vans

DIY versus a fish and chip van

Ordering from a local shop? Call ahead and collect at the last minute. For a crowd, a van is normally simpler.

Not sure whether to order in or book a van? Consider your numbers and how fresh you want it. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Why fried-to-order beats a buffet

Next to a DIY barbecue, the host is not stuck cooking all afternoon. There’s no one-size-fits-all price for a fish and chip van. A short service and a long afternoon’s trading are very different bookings. We set everything out in your quote.

Why Redbridge hosts choose us

  • Served hot, straight from the hatch
  • A menu almost everyone likes
  • Mushy peas, curry sauce and gravy on the side
  • A van that becomes part of the event

Pie and chips

A pie and chips is proper comfort food, and it is especially welcome on a cold day.

Curry sauce

The chip shop’s own curry sauce is mild and a little sweet, perfect with chips or a sausage.

Working with your venue

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a fête committee, we will work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

Venues frequently have their own rules about outside caterers and vehicles: where a van can park, access times and the paperwork they want. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work through them with you.

What the van needs

A fish and chip van is a vehicle, so the spot matters, so a few things need checking. Here’s what we look for:

  • Lighting nearby for evening events
  • Confirmation that the van can park there
  • A clear area by the serving hatch

Not sure about the spot? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Popular choices

  • Mushy peas
  • Curry sauce
  • Cod and chips
  • Sausage and chips

How it works

The van turns up at the agreed time, parks where we agreed. Once the oil is hot, the first portions go out right on schedule. Sunset in Redbridge is about 9:00pm in late May and 9:25pm in late June. If the party runs past dark, the queue and the path to the van need light.

  1. Send us the date, address, numbers and serving time.
  2. We check access for the van and send a quote.
  3. We arrive, park on the drive or agreed spot and set up.
  4. Guests come up to the hatch and we fry to order.
  5. We pack up when we’re done and leave the pitch tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Plan a bit of cover near the hatch if rain is likely
  • Name one person we can call on the day
  • Ensure the van can get in

How much space do you need?

Less than you might think: a hard surface or firm, dry grass, that the van can reach easily. Send us a photo if you’re not sure.
