A chip van near Eastfields
Wedding fish and chip van in Eastfields, fried fresh
The van parks near the marquee, barn or venue, and guests wander out to the hatch. It becomes a lovely moment in the evening. On the menu are curry sauce, haddock and chips and sausage and chips, and we’re frequently booked for vow renewal parties and engagement parties.
For a wedding in Eastfields, think about where a catering van can stop. Many London venues have a loading bay or yard, which is ideal for the van. We cook inside the van, right where your guests are, and the food reaches them hot and crisp.

Cannot we just order from the chip shop?
Ordering in from a local chip shop is an option. The problem is timing: big orders take a long time, and the food is cooling while it travels. A van cooks in front of your guests instead.
DIY food keeps costs down, but the host spends the event serving. With a fish and chip van, you get hot food without the work.
Is a fish and chip van right for your wedding?
A hog roast is a classic for weddings, but it is pork only. A van gives a choice of fish, sausage or pie. Many fish and chip vans set a minimum, because the van, fuel and travel cost the same for a small group. Ask us what applies to your wedding.
Why us?
- All the chip-shop extras
- No kitchen, no crockery, no washing up
- We cook inside the van, whatever the weather
- A clear quote before booking

Looking after everyone
With a bit of planning, dietary needs are easier to handle. Here are a few tips:
- Have bins ready for paper and trays
- Check your venue’s rules on outside caterers early
- Talk to us about evening numbers
- Add an allergy question to your RSVP card
Once everyone has eaten, we pack up and leave you to the party.
Festoon lights by the van look lovely in the evening photos.

Where the van can park in Eastfields
Before the day, we’ll agree where the van parks. It needs to tick a few simple boxes:
- Permission from the venue or landowner for the van
- Light near the van and the queue for evening service
- Space for people to queue at the hatch
Eastfields is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking can be tight: let us know about off-street space or permits.

The process
Expect a friendly, organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up where we’ve agreed, and get on with frying and serving. In Eastfields, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:05pm, which means evening fish and chips is frequently served in daylight in June and July. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it is dark by about 3:55pm.
- Get in touch with the basics: when, where and roughly how many.
- Show us where the van would go, and we will confirm it works.
- Closer to the day, we confirm the arrival time and serving time.
- We park, open the hatch and start frying for your guests.
- Once the last portion is out, we pack up and go.
Preparing for the day
- Make sure the van can get in
- Name one person we can call on the day
- Confirm numbers and dietary needs before the day

For event organisers in Eastfields
Many venues set rules for catering vans: parking spots, arrival times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work through them with you.
For larger numbers, tell us how long you have for food, so we can plan how to keep the queue short. Sending people up in groups helps.
Prices and what affects them
Your quote will be clear. What affects it most:
- Access and parking
- Travel, tolls and road charges
- Peak dates such as summer Saturdays
- The number of meals
When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, menu, travel, any minimum and VAT. Our quotes spell it all out.
Getting an accurate quote
To speed things up, tell us:
- A picture of the parking spot
- How to get in: gates, lanes and ground
- Your date and serving time
- Allergies and diets you know about
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the parking spot, access, numbers and serving time. Photos of the spot and the way in help. To send your details, use our quote form.
