Book the van in Fox

Wedding fish and chip van for your wedding in Fox

At informal weddings, the van can even serve the main meal. Most book it for the evening, when it really comes into its own. We are often asked to cater engagement parties and seaside-themed weddings, serving mushy peas, curry sauce and sausage and chips.

There’s something special about a country wedding near Fox, and evening fish and chips adds to it. Plan access and a back-up spot in case of rain. Every portion is cooked to order on the day, not cooked earlier and kept warm.

The process

We need a level, firm place to park the van, close to where people will eat, which we agree with you beforehand. In Fox, midsummer sunset is about 9:25pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:10pm, so evening food at about 8:30pm is in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 4:00pm in December, plan lighting by the van.

  1. You share your date, numbers and address.
  2. We check the route in and send a price.
  3. We arrive early to park and heat the fryers.
  4. Fish goes into the batter and straight into the fryer, to order.
  5. Service is straight from the hatch, then we pack up.

  • Barn and farm weddings

What affects the price in Fox

Every booking is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Whether a minimum applies
  • How far we travel
  • The day of the week

Travel, tolls and charges such as ULEZ can affect the price, so tell us exactly where your wedding is.

Can’t we just order from the chip shop?

You could do a chip-shop run for everyone yourself, but it rarely works for a crowd. By the time you’ve queued, paid and driven back, the batter has gone soft. With a van, it’s fried on the spot.

A DIY buffet works for small groups. For bigger numbers, a van makes life easier, and you get to enjoy the day.

Organising for someone else?

Hosting at home? Send a photo of where the van would park, and we’ll let you know if the van will fit.

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll explain how it works. We are happy to liaise with facilities on parking and timings.

Can you serve after a service at Church of St Mary?

Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby where the van can park. Churches rarely have space for a catering van, so the food is generally elsewhere. Send us the address.

When should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so contact us early.
