Planning an event in Sundridge?

What the van needs

If a spot is not suitable, we’ll tell you, and help find another. What matters most:

  • Space for people to queue at the hatch
  • Confirmation that the van can park there
  • Access wide and high enough for the van

Sundridge is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking can be tight: let us know about off-street space or permits.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise.

Corporate fish and chip catering in Sundridge, fried fresh

Office teams, drivers and warehouse staff all love it, because it is familiar and filling. We are often asked to cater a monthly Fish Friday and customer days, serving pie and chips, mushy peas and cod and chips.

London work events in Sundridge frequently run to a tight lunch break, so we plan service to feed people fast. Let us know about access and security. We keep the menu short: a few classics done properly keeps the food fresh and the queue moving.

Organising for someone else?

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

If you are booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we’ll talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on parking and timings.

Cannot we just order from the chip shop?

Frying for a crowd at home isn’t a good idea: hot oil and a busy party are a bad combination. Leave the frying to a van built for it.

Not sure whether to order in or book a van? Think about numbers, timing and how hot you want the food. We’re happy to send a quote so you can compare.

Is a fish and chip van right for your staff event?

A barbecue needs someone to cook. With a van, nobody from the team has to cook. Compared with a sit-down meal, a fish and chip van is often good value, as there’s no kitchen to hire and nothing to wash up. We will send you a quote.

Why us?

  • Cod, haddock, sausages and pies
  • Fish and chips fried fresh on site
  • A van that becomes part of the event
  • Nothing for you to cook or clear

How it works

Serving is straightforward: everything is handed over hot from the hatch. Afterwards we pack up. A lunch-break van visit in Sundridge is always in daylight, but later events need lighting: it is dark by about 3:55pm in December.

  1. Start with three things: the date, the place and a rough headcount.
  2. Show us where the van would go, and we will confirm it works.
  3. A week or so before, we confirm timings and numbers.
  4. We park, open the hatch and start frying for your staff.
  5. Once the last portion is out, we pack up and go.

How to prepare

  • Check the way in for low branches, cables and narrow gates
  • Think about a gazebo by the van in case of rain
  • Pick a flat, firm place for the van to park

How to get a price

Send us the date, the address or BR1 postcode and rough numbers, along with your serving time, and we will reply with a quote. To get started, send us your details through our quote form.

Prices and what affects them

Your quote will be clear. What affects it most:

  • How easy the site is to reach
  • Peak dates such as summer Saturdays
  • Service time
  • The number of meals

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu and timing to match. Keeping the menu short is normally the best value.

Details that help

When you get in touch, it helps to tell us:

  • The spot you have in mind for the van
  • The date and when you’d like to eat
  • A picture of where the van would go
  • Roughly how many people, including children

We only need a few details to quote: the date, where the van would park, roughly how many people and when you’d like to eat. You can send us your details through our quote form.

Sundridge questions

It can be, so tell us about driveways, yards, car parks or a council suspension. We will work around it.

What’s the nearest station to Sundridge?

Sundridge Park station, in Sundridge itself.

How much is fish and chip van hire?

It depends on numbers, the menu, how long we serve and travel. Tell us about your staff event and we will send a quote.

What will facilities need from you?

Sites vary, so ask facilities for their list and pass it on.

Do you have allergen information?

We provide allergen information for everything we serve. Fish and gluten are the main ones in battered fish. Tell us about allergies in advance.

What if the weather’s bad?

Rain doesn’t stop the fryers: the cooking is inside the van. Staff will appreciate cover near the hatch.

Can the van park on grass?

Generally, if it is firm and dry. After heavy rain, soft grass can be a problem for any vehicle, so plan a back-up spot.

Do you fry it on site?

Yes. We cook inside the van, so it’s fried on the spot, rather than made in advance.
