The price comes down to a few factors:

  • Your choice of menu
  • Any minimum charge

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, menu, travel, any minimum and VAT. We set ours out clearly.

A chip van compared with other options

Ordering takeaway to a location is unreliable. A van cooks at the unit base. The cost per head normally falls as numbers rise, since the van and set-up are much the same for any size. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

What you get with us

  • Works on wet days as well as sunny ones
  • Nothing for you to cook or clear
  • A van that becomes part of the event
  • Classic food your crew already know

Step by step

Here’s how the day usually runs: we arrive, park up and set up, the oil comes up to temperature, and we serve hot from the hatch when you are ready to eat. On a winter shoot near Chislet, the light goes by about 3:50pm, so the unit base needs lighting for late service. In summer, light lasts until about 9:15pm.

  1. Start with three things: the date, the place and a rough headcount.
  2. Show us where the van would go, and we will confirm it works.
  3. A week or so before, we confirm timings and numbers.
  4. The van rolls up, the hatch opens and the fryers get going for the crew.
  5. Last portion served, we tidy up and head off.

Preparing for the day

  • Choose a level, firm spot for the van
  • Ensure the van can get in
  • Give us your final numbers and allergies
