Book the van in Ifold

Planners, venues and businesses

If you’re booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we’ll talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on parking and timings.

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers and vehicles: where a van can park, access times and the paperwork they want. Tell us what your venue needs and we will confirm what we can provide.

How our film set catering works in Ifold

Locations and the production office can deal with us directly. We serve haddock and chips, pie and chips and sausage and chips, and we are regularly asked to cater crew lunches at base and wrap celebrations.

Near Ifold, check tracks and ground for the van with locations. Food is served straight from the hatch, so it is hot and generous, and the queue keeps moving.

Planning for dietary needs

Dietary needs are easiest to plan with some notice. We suggest:

  • Give us a map or what3words for base
  • Name a contact in the production office
  • Agree the waste plan with locations
  • Plan an alternative for anyone we cannot cater for

Supporting artists and visitors can be included in numbers.

End the shoot with a chip van wrap.

Why choose a fish and chip van in Ifold?

Takeaway rarely reaches a location hot. A van cooks at the unit base. Comparing vans? Look at what each quote includes: service time, menu, travel, any minimum and VAT. We set ours out clearly.

What you get with us

  • The queue at the hatch gets people talking
  • No surprises in your quote
  • Mushy peas, curry sauce and gravy on the side
  • A menu almost everyone likes

See how we price or the cost guide.

What affects the price in Ifold

There are no hidden charges: the quote reflects:

  • Your choice of menu
  • The minimum booking
  • How far we travel
  • The length of service

Larger groups normally cost less per head, since the van and set-up are much the same for any size. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Getting an accurate quote

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • Where the van would park
  • A picture of where the van would go
  • The venue or postcode
  • Anything awkward about the way in

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: where the van would park, how to get in, numbers and timings. Photos of the spot and the way in help. When you are ready, fill in our quote form.

The process

We need a level, firm place to park the van, near your crew, and we agree exactly where before the day. In December, daylight in Ifold ends around 3:55pm, so a late lunch or wrap at base needs lighting. Summer shoots have daylight until about 9:20pm.

  1. First, tell us about your shoot.
  2. We check the date and where the van will park, then send a quote.
  3. Timings and the van’s spot are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day, we park up and fry fresh for the crew.
  5. Everything goes out hot from the hatch, and we pack up afterwards.

How to prepare

  • Share the timings for the day
  • Name one person we can call on the day
  • Think about a gazebo by the van in case of rain

FAQs for Ifold

Do you come out to small places like Ifold?

Not at all. We serve villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates and the ground.

Is Ifold close to London?

Roughly 35 miles from the centre of London, and we cover it as standard.

Do you do anything other than fish?

Yes: sausage and chips or pie and chips. Give us a rough idea of numbers.

How much is fish and chip van hire?

The price depends on numbers, menu, service time and travel. Tell us about your shoot and we’ll send a quote.

It depends on the ground. Let us know what the ground is like, and we will advise.
