Fish and chip van hire in Beech Hill, cooked to order
Queuing at the hatch is half the experience. People chat, the smell drifts across, and the food arrives hot. On the menu are gravy, sausage and chips and curry sauce, and typical bookings are for company team days and festive get-togethers.
For a rural spot like Beech Hill, the setting does a lot of the work. Tell us about gates, tracks and the ground. Food is served straight from the hatch, so it is hot and generous, and service is quick once we are up and running.

What affects the price in Beech Hill
Two events with the same numbers can cost different amounts, because of:
- How far we travel
- Peak dates such as summer Saturdays
- How many people are eating
- Cod, haddock or both
Many fish and chip vans set a minimum, because the van, fuel and travel cost the same for a small group. We will tell you up front.
What to tell us
A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:
- Anything awkward about the way in
- A picture of where the van would go
- Roughly how many people, including children
- The address or venue name
Every booking is quoted individually, so the price fits what you actually need. For a quote, fill in our quote form.

Why fried-to-order beats a buffet
A cold buffet is simple, but food sits out, and nothing’s hot on a cool evening. Fish and chips is fried to order and served hot. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, menu, travel, any minimum and VAT. We set ours out clearly.

Can’t we just order from the chip shop?
Collecting fish and chips for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is hard work. By the time you’ve queued, paid and driven back, the batter has gone soft. A van fries it right there, so it is crisp.
For a small group, making your own food can work. For bigger numbers, a van makes life easier, and you get to enjoy the day.
Before you choose a spot
Most drives, car parks, yards and firm lawns can take the van, but there are a few things to check:
- A lit spot if service runs after dark
- Confirmation that the van can park there
- A short walk from the party
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

The process
We arrive on time, parks where we agreed and the hatch goes up. When the fryers are up to heat, service starts at the time you asked for. Around midsummer it stays light in Beech Hill until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting by the van.
- Get in touch with the basics: when, where and roughly how many.
- A photo of the parking spot helps us check the van will fit.
- A week or so before, we confirm timings and numbers.
- We park, open the hatch and start frying for your guests.
- Last portion served, we tidy up and head off.
How to prepare
- Give us your final numbers and allergies
- Think about a gazebo by the van in case of rain
- Plan where the queue will stand

Planners, venues and businesses
Venues frequently have their own rules about outside caterers and vehicles: parking spots, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll confirm what we can provide.
If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a fête committee, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.
Food your guests will love
Curry sauce
Some people won’t eat chips without curry sauce and it is on the menu.
Haddock and chips
Haddock has a slightly sweeter flavour and a firmer flake. It is the traditional favourite in Scotland and much of the north.
