Wedding fish and chip van in North End

Wedding fish and chip van for your wedding in North End

Some couples book the van for the wedding breakfast at a relaxed, informal wedding. Most book it for the evening, when it’s most welcome. Whether it’s food after the first dance and informal weddings, we can cook haddock and chips, cod and chips and curry sauce.

Weddings in a place like North End frequently feel personal: a local church, then a marquee in a garden or field. We park close by for evening food. Tell us about access to the field or garden. We cook inside the van, right where your guests are, so the batter is still crisp when it is handed over.

How it works

Service is quick: everything is handed over hot from the hatch. When service is finished, we pack up and leave the pitch tidy. For a summer wedding in North End, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so evening food at about 8:30pm is in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it is dark by about 4:00pm.

  1. First, the plan: what, where and what time.
  2. You hear back on the date and the price.
  3. We agree exactly where the van parks, and how it gets in.
  4. Batter, fish and chips all go into the fryer as people come up.
  5. The pitch is left tidy when we go.

Getting ready for the day

  • Have a level parking spot ready
  • Name one person we can call on the day
  • Keep space clear for guests at the hatch

Curry sauce

The chip shop’s own curry sauce is mild and a little sweet, perfect with chips or a sausage.

Gravy

In the north and the Midlands, gravy is the side of choice, and it goes perfectly with a pie.

Planning the van’s spot

The right spot keeps everyone safe and the service smooth. We need:

  • A short walk from the party
  • A route in without tight gates or low branches

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.

Takeaway run or book a van?

Doing the food yourself saves money, but the host ends up running around. Booking the van means hot food and no stress.

Ordering in from a local chip shop is an option. Large orders are slow, and the food cools in the bags. A van solves that by cooking on site.
