About our corporate fish and chip catering in West End

We plan service around your breaks and shifts, so each group can eat within its break. For charity days and retirement and leaving lunches, we’ll put together a menu of sausage and chips, mushy peas and haddock and chips for your guests.

Around West End, workplace bookings tend to use car parks, yards and loading bays. Facilities teams usually need to approve the van, and access needs planning. Let us know about allergies and dietary needs in advance, and we’ll tell you honestly what we can offer before you book.

Occasions we serve in West End

It does not need a meeting room, a kitchen or a restaurant booking, so it is easy to organise.

Big or small, the van works the same way. Common bookings include:

  • Friday lunch treats
  • Charity and fundraising days at work
  • Thank-you lunches for the team
  • Open days

Within reach of West End are historic houses such as Benjamin Franklin House (less than half a mile south) and Burlington House (0.6 miles south-west). Estates and historic houses can make memorable settings for client events, but they generally set strict rules for vehicles.

Our booking checklist

West End: your questions answered

What’s the nearest station to West End?

West End has its own station: Tottenham Court Road station.

Can the van park in St Anne's Churchyard?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, generally the council. Check with them first, and tell us what they say.

How does payment work for businesses?

Tell us what your finance team needs and we’ll explain.

Do you serve visitors at events?

Yes, it is a great draw. Send us the timings and numbers.

Do you need power or water?

Tell us what’s available at the site in your enquiry, and we’ll confirm what we need.

Do you cover West End?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, and West End is within our area. For a quote, use our quote form.

Can coeliacs eat the battered fish?

Our battered fish contains gluten, because standard batter uses wheat flour. Let us know about coeliac staff in advance, and we will tell you honestly what we can offer.

Can you serve each shift?

Give us the break times and we’ll serve in waves.

Working with your venue

For big groups, the service window matters, so we can plan service to match. Sending people up in groups helps.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on arrival and serving times.

Prices and what affects them

There are no hidden charges: the quote reflects:

  • How many people are eating
  • Peak dates such as summer Saturdays
  • The menu and how many choices
  • How easy the site is to reach

Many fish and chip vans set a minimum, because the van, fuel and travel cost the same for a small group. Ask us what applies to your staff event.

What we need to know

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Anything awkward about the way in
  • Dietary needs, with numbers
  • The spot you have in mind for the van
  • The date and when you’d like to eat

Every booking is quoted individually, based on your numbers, timings and travel. To ask for one, send us your details through our quote form.

Step by step

Expect a friendly, organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up where we have agreed, and cook and serve without fuss. A lunch-break van visit in West End is always in daylight, but later events need lighting: it is dark by about 3:55pm in December.

  1. You share your date, numbers and address.
  2. We check the route in and send a price.
  3. We arrive early to park and heat the fryers.
  4. Fish goes into the batter and straight into the fryer, to order.
  5. We serve hot from the hatch and pack up when we’re done.

Getting ready for the day

  • Share the timings for the day
  • Keep space clear for staff at the hatch
  • Send us final numbers and any allergies in good time

How to get a price

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the parking spot, access, numbers and serving time. Photos of the spot and the way in help. To send your details, send us your details through our quote form.

A fish and chip van or other catering?

A meal out takes everyone off site. A van comes to you. There is no one-size-fits-all price for a fish and chip van. A short service and a long afternoon’s trading are very different bookings. Your quote spells it all out.

Why book with us

  • All the chip-shop extras
  • We cover West End and the whole of Greater London
  • Something for staff to gather round
  • Hot food handed straight over

Read how we price or our guide to van hire costs.

Allergies and dietary needs

With a little notice, diets are easier to plan for. Our advice:

  • Check the site’s requirements for caterers
  • Put allergy details in writing
  • Flag any coeliac staff
  • Ask facilities about access

Plan the queue away from vehicle routes.

Some teams make it a regular treat.

Should I sort the food myself?

You could do a chip-shop run for everyone yourself, but it rarely works for a crowd. By the time you’ve queued, paid and driven back, the batter has gone soft. With a van, it’s fried on the spot.

Ordering in from a local chip shop is an option. The problem is timing: big orders take a long time, and the food is cooling while it travels. A van cooks in front of your staff instead.

Space, access and the venue

If a spot is not suitable, we will tell you, and help find another. The main points are:

  • Permission from the venue or landowner for the van
  • Light near the van and the queue for evening service
  • A clear area by the serving hatch

As a London location, West End is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: let us know about off-street space or permits.

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.
